Come up with a business concept & develop its visual branding from the ground up.
Mercurius Travels is a concept I created for a travel agency that targets millennial travelers. The company offers Italian vacation packages and a personalized trip planner. By taking a short questionnaire, users get an affordable and customizable vacation package that best suits them. The company app makes traveling easier with an accessible itinerary and map, detailing and organizing all travel plans.

Modernizing Mercurius Travels
As a sophomore graphic design student at Purchase College, I was tasked to develop a brand identity for a conceptual business and design its marketing collateral, which included business cards, letterheads and merchandise. The final part of the branding project was to create a company website. With little time left in the semester, I regret not putting more time and effort into my website design. However, when I started taking UX/UI design classes in 2020, I took the opportunity to use what I had learned to improve my original design and give Mercurius Travels a more modern interface.
The Evolution of Web Design
Looking back at my original design, it was fascinating to see how web design has changed over time. Today, designers have abandoned ornate elements and have adapted to minimalist grid layouts. Websites are meant to be functional and responsive, so modern web designs are simple and fluid to varying devices.

Next Steps
I will develop a company mobile app that organizes travel plans all in one place. To create this intuitive experience, I will conduct research to understand user needs, challenge assumptions, redefine problems and create innovative solutions to prototype and test.
